Re other applications for AP patents: currently there do not seem to be any devices flowing out of those other potential applications, except maybe the potential for them to be used for gesture recognition and similar, in which case they would come under ultrasonic applications. I think realistically they are going to remain as potential until AKP cleans up the speaker opportunities that are right in front of them. That does not sound like a problem to me if Yole envision a market of $2B for micro speakers, ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, etc, will be available by 2024. Thats the kind of problem I would be happy to have!
