Nige456 actually has a point. It is a mandibular advancement splint that was way too expensive for pratitioners. So to get around that they used a ema mandibular advancement splint design (buccal elastic straps) and printed it to save money. Nothing new there.
first to market for advancement splints is SOM and they still are not at breakeven after 15 years. Pretty poir given they T/O 60 mil a year.
funny thing is people either tolerate an advancement splint or a Cpap. Patient compliance would be poor wearing both. Uptake in Australia is very poor as is feedback from the sleep community.
Anyway, I am in the Dental Industry and one particular device is the leader in Mandibular advancement devices in both Australia and the U.S and it's not OVN.
