Canberra-basedsecure cloud services provider Vault has welcomed the release of new guidelinesfor vendors to be assessed for their competence in delivering secure cloudservices by either public or private sector entities.

Vaultwas one of three companies to be granted the coveted Protected cloudcertification by the Australian Signals Directorate under the old system;Sliced Tech and Macquarie Government were the others. There were also threeforeign companies given the certification: Dimension Data, Microsoft and AmazonWeb Services.

Localproviders Vault and Slicetech are also hoping to gain market share afterGovernment Services Minister Stuart Robert said the government would nowrequire agencies with sensitive data to use Australian located cloud services.

Like Vault Cloud, ArchTIS was founded inCanberra to address unique gaps in government data security.
