For a newbie you're playing with too much money (unless that's your monthly salary), and if you hold mainly BRN and 3DP then you've focussed in the wrong area (high risk). It's better to start small and in stocks whose products you are familiar with, e.g. WOW, WES, COL, a bank, WPL, etc.(these are examples, not a recommendation). Then having a few speculative stocks on the side adds some excitement and learning experience, but keep them at a low % of portfolio. AIMHO
