Lets say I have a mastercard debit card.
I lost my mastercard debit card.
Some dude found it and use it to buy a skin for a virtual gun or a virtual currency for an online game. I know with absolute fact that you can not trade cosmetic items or virtual currency you purchased, not in modern games.
I got charged for it and then I initiated a charge back.
The money then gets returned.
Where is the loss incurred by the online video game? Why would the bank be “angry” at the online game? Mastercard has their own algorithm to spot stolen cards. KYC or AMl literally plays no role here.
