Revenue is vanity, profit is sanity, but cash is king.
Net profit is a metric that is widely used, and it is an important measure, but it can be easily manipulated if you know what you are doing and convince auditors that it's okay. Cash flow is a lot harder to manipulate, for me, as the saying above, cash is king. I rarely look at profit and loss statements, cash flow first than balance sheet.
