Just taking issue with your comment; " if the Virus continues its aggressive trajectory (which seems likely based on available trend data)" As per chart below, the latest is not an "aggressive trajectory" any longer. Obviously we are not out of the woods yet but that looks like a plateau not an aggressive trajectory.
Also, while there is still a defensive position being taken up in markets, if i could afford it, I'd start taking up a short position on gold to accompany my long position on oil ;-)
