I'm the opposite - can't stand wearing a shirt without a tie, but never had to wear one at school...I'm a South Australian by birth, but live in Brisbane now with a little Queenslander toddler... so maybe at least two Queenslanders (adoptive counts) who wear ties?
Apparently they can reduce blood flow to the brain by 7.5%... which may explain some investment choices.
