Dear readers,
Tin has recovered strongly from July's low, leading the resurgence in base metals this month. LME 3-month price is up 9% in August while tin's net speculation has also risen over the past two weeks, rebounding from possibly oversold conditions. This uptick occurs amidst recent market volatility and mixed macro signals including anticipated Fed rate cuts starting in September and persisting weak economic data from China. Tin fundamentals also remain robust as the feedstock market in China tightens and Indonesian supply takes time to recover, with exports declining in July.Tom Langston - Senior Market Analyst
