Opthea highlights just how good an investment LTP probably is by comparison. Potential market size aside, OPT had a mc of $740mill before its trading halt at 60c. A few months ago the mc was around $1.5 billion dollars and that was prior to the completion of their trial. The trial unfortunately has been a big failure. What's worse is a disastrous investment arrangement where a group of investors appears to have the right to demand up to four times their investment to be repaid by the company, leaving the company in a position where it had to announce yesterday that it is at risk as a going concern. By comparison LTP has no such investment arrangement, LTP's mc is under $100mill, the company has a product using a drug that has been proven to work, has been in the market for years with LTP only changing the delivery method which has been shown to greatly increase the speed at which it works and bypasses the stomach, allowing for patients to be able to eat normally prior to use rather than have to fast first. There is no significant binary outcome trial risk as there is for most other drug companies. For that reason as well as the potential market size, the mc down here just looks far too low.
