1) no polar bears in that area
2) FIFO personnel and 3+years running, equipment gets killed
3) if management is remotely sane, they would be firing drunks on the spot - no one manager wants to go to jail/court for having fatalities on site
4) sometimes replacing asap means waiting from Jan to first ship in in May/Jun
