Amusing when looking at this latest activity. In my mind there is no doubt a major player wanted out and the circumstances were used to execute the plan.
The bush fire was lit with the talk of renewal being "certainty" and the appointment of new "executives" to push the program. Behind the scenes the revenue was taking a hit so the time to strike was before the announcement. It was perfectly orchestrated a few days prior
Retail investors did not have the fire power to pull this off.
