Scenario: I start the world's best BNPL company. I charge a 50% fee, f* yeah I'm da boss. I do $1m in sales in my first month. At the end of the month I have paid out $0.5m to vendors, and I have $1m in receivables. I think I'm a genius and will make $0.5m. Unfortunately my accountant Goldbull22 tells me I've made (£0.5m) in operating cashflow! Disaster, I have now closed down my business and forfeited the receivables. Thanks for the advice Goldbull22! Dodged that one!
