Quite the opposite - EVs have far fewer moving parts than their ICE equivalents. Please look it up.
Electric trucks don’t need oil filters, air filters, or exhaust systems, and have much simpler transmissions. The engines don’t have spark plugs, pistons, or need oil changes. EVs also use regenerative braking which reduces the wear and tear on brake systems, extending their life.
The batteries make EVs much heavier though, and wear through tyres (and roads) faster. They also need battery replacements from time to time - every few years for a sedan… probably more often than that for a heavy truck under constant use.
Saying all this, electric prime movers aren’t ready for prime time yet, for lots of reasons. They aren’t suitable for Australia’s needs or current infrastructure, and probably won’t be for a decade. But after several decades of incremental advancements… who knows?
