This is normal, they can't give a running commentary of the negotiations.

The deal remains alive and while the half yearly report was nothing spectacular, it is going in the right direction and provides a good base for the new owner to inject some cash and push it to new heights.

Nothing is guaranteed, and I've just been been building a position at these prices on the expectation that this is very likely to go ahead, and if not, there at least is some residual value so it's not quite a binary investment.
