if you calculate and as per my knowledge spenda has approx 70 staff total $5m annual salary cost than average salary comes to $71k annual.
so from my point of view the $5m annual salary is not much and note thay have decreased $2m from last year.
bonuses are good and actually motivate staff to work hard and to achieve KPIs or overperform, and it is another form of retention of staff in accute shortages of qualified staff.

His performance is worth the right now achieved goals plus strategicaly he will achieve.
only issue with him is time management and poor communication to share holder. and i strongly recommend he should be off from interviews or webinars, and there should be some other person, specifically inverstor relationship who can communicate with shareholders and others with exp.
