I'm not exactly sure what you were expecting. The company doesn't sell anything, therefore has no income, therefore can't pay its bills. And clinical trials aren't exactly cheap either. The company therefore relies on R&D refunds from the ATO, grants from benefactors such as the Michael J Fox Foundation, banks (debt), and the good graces of "sophisticated and professional investors" and "mum and dad investors" when the board of directors conduct a Capital Raising.
