How do you know it hasn't gone any further?

NASA is a very conservative organisation (in engineering/design terms) - things are tested to extremes - they subject all their equipment/devices to vibrations that simulates rocket launch. They put them in a centrifugal machine that can pull 8Gs. They bombard them with radiation and radio waves to see what happens to them. They assemble everything in giant clean rooms.

The James Webb Space Telescope that was decades in design and launched on Christmas Day is packed with equipment that is already obsolete, because it takes so long to test, commission and install it onto the platform.

AKIDA is still years from deployment in NASA platforms beyond investigation and testing.
