I wonder if there is anything stopping them from diversifying harvesting in other South Pacific countries. I understand it is a no no to grow it in countries outside the Pacific islands politically. There was some talk from farmers in North Queensland wanting to get into it some time ago. I don’t think the Australian government will back it since opening the sales up over here was somewhat political to help the economies in Fiji and the Pacific. As you say a balancing act. You would hate the wholesale price to go up and make it harder for locals to purchase. So far it seems like a like a big win. I don’t mind paying our way over there.
13 years now reading HC and I have never come across anyone even close to having a lack of knowledge then our numbnuts. Everyone forum has one but dumpy takes the cake.
