They announced the div at close end of market and you had by COB the next day to nominate or change DRP preferences. You could only withdraw by mail, not electronically so it gave shareholders no chance.
I pulled out but only because I rang the shared directory at Link and got the form send electronically and they escalated the change which I am grateful for.
But it was very poor by DDR to treat shareholders like that. Their governance has been a huge fail of recent times which has hit the share price hard.
There is no reason the 1st qtr profit announcement couldn't have been made when they released the dividend announcement.
