Well it all depends on the investors circumstances/strategy, yes you could take that route, but maybe they paid top end for their options, maybe they have enough cap losses banked for the tax man, maybe they plan to buy or have bought on the market as well and lower their DCA to accommodate the options purchase; that way they have only paper loss not actual loss (if any loss)... or maybe they just believe in the company and its direction and want to do their part in helping us to producer by adding to our bank balance...
Im not saying that this is the case, just saying people have their reasons and just because it doesn't fit one individuals trading strategy, does not make that the general consensus.
Like I said each to their own haha.
