yes the options price will usually rise and fall in line with the heads price but usually a cent or so lower than the fully converted price.
the main advantage as that you are saving money until you need to convert as long as you are happy with the company and the way they are heading then options is a good way to save some money in the short term. I would advise that when you are getting close to the conversion date that you make sure you have the funds available should you wish to convert !
