Correct- if its sold in less than 12 months the punt on CGT discount hasn't paid off. However there is no CGT discount on options... Have a chat to your accountant, not financial advice. While you are correct in saying the options will likely get included in the sale of the company if it happens, the acquirer will pay the target price minus the cost of the exercise of those options.
