Each to their own...
In my opinion there is merit tracking against the average as it provides a central tendency upon which to base the interpretation of the conversion data whether it be 'positive' or 'negative'.
It shouldn't come as a surprise, but I don't think people need to look far into these forums to find a generally negative sentiment, it's been repellent for 18 months.
