This is just a general answer, but I like to write drafts of announcements as soon as I can so that when the news arrives I just have to add the final polishing touches. I don’t always get this opportunity, but often you have an idea of what is coming.
Some news is truely new and unexpected, while some news is just unexpected in timing.
