BG (and the old guard) had a publicly stated aim for his RAC investment, exiting at ~$250m. When it became clear that his personal interests were no longer aligned with shareholders, who are looking for the 'best exit', he resigned.
JC had a privately held aim for his RAC investment (that he shared with a select few), exiting at ~$1B. He appeared to make strategic decisions in the pursuit of his personal interest, at stark contrast with shareholder interests, for years after this misalignment was made clear.
These two scenarios are not similar, and to be fair, I don't think the company handle should be discussing either topic. The concept of a rogue ex-director, thwarting shareholder interest, doesn't help the RAC narrative.
