HUMBLE GROUP COMES TO THE RESCUE AFTER HALO SLIPS
Gold Coast-based Body Science and its Swedish parent company Humble Group have bought the Sydney production plant of the collapsed sports and nutrition group Halo Food.
The Humble Group, which acquired Body Science last year, bought the formerly ASX listed Halo's bar line production plant at Preston in Sydney's outer southwest, which was specifically designed for protein bar and fudge production.
Based in Burleigh Heads, Body Science founder and chief executive Sheree Young says integrating manufacturing capabilities opens further opportunities for support and growth of Humble Group brands in the region.
"Humble Group already have extensive manufacturing operations for FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) throughout Europe and the investment in Australia is a testament to the opportunity here and support for ongoing Australian manufacturing of BSc products," she said.
"I'm also thrilled that the acquisition by our group ensures ongoing employment for the staff affected by the recent events in Halo Group."
Halo collapsed in August and KPMG Australia's David Hardy, Ryan Eagle and Emily Seeckts were appointed receivers and managers. They launched a recapitalisation and sale campaign of the Halo business which has four production and warehouse facilities. "The transaction will enable the Bar Line facility to benefit from a well-capitalised owner with an Australian-focused growth agenda," KPMG said of the latest sale.
In its full-year results for the year to March 31, Halo reported a $51m loss, a deterioration from a $8m loss in the previous year. Revenue for the year rose 37 per cent to $82m.

I bought into KTD at its IPO and watched a fortune in the making, only to see it start sinking under HLF's management. I bailed out in time to escape at break even. My sympathy goes to those SH who stayed onboard.

Hello Anca . Thanks for this info. Where did you get this info from? You know a lot more than me ( An owner of Halo by virtue of a parcel of now worthless shares). Actually reviewing my “ownership” in this company I must have the role of share holders all wrong. We have been lambs to the slaughter and had zero protection or information from any regulatory direction . No access to AGM’s, Cancelled AGM’s, prove-able false statements , and in my opinion fraudulent claims at cash raises.
