ANZ NATIONAL BANK LIMITED NZ$250 MILLION SUBORDINATED BONDS DUE 2 MARCH 2017
("the Bonds")

We wish to advise that on 2 March 2012, ANZ National Bank Limited will be
exercising its right to repay the Bonds, in accordance with clause 4.2 of the
Subordinated Bonds Deed Poll dated 6 September 2006.
