Fair enough. My view of CEOs is that their most important role is to build an excellent culture for their company. It may sound a little 'wanky' but employees do their best work when they are able to trust their leaders and have interesting work and challenges to solve. I think Aaryn has the right skills for this.
The additions of Greg and Simon to the board are very important. They have the industry connections and know how to help grow the company under Aaryn's leadership from the position of the Board. We may also get a further appointment of a US Sales lead to further bolster the leadership team. Yes, this recruitment could arguably have happened much sooner but at least it has now happened and we're moving in the right direction. GM contract renewal is looking more likely now in my opinion.
Very different scale but Robbie Cooke, current CEO of Tyro was appointed without a specific banking background. He has fostered an excellent culture and his company speaks for itself.
