You clearly don't understand the issue here. Its not about when its in the ground undisturbed, its about what happens when its dug up, processed and then dumped in a tailings pond that is the issue. And they are valid concerns. Dumping millions of tons of toxic, radioactive waste into a lake, building 40m high embankments walls to contain the waste and then leaving future generations to maintain it for hundreds of years is not green or sustainable. The 100ppm limit was simply enacted to stop the project.

This project will not happen whilst IA are in Government and it would be a serious challenge for any other political party to get this project approved by the people of Greenland in future IMO. IA campaigned against the Kavanefjeld project during 2021 election campaign and they won. Whilst it wasn't the only reason IA won, it played a big part IMO. Doubtful any political party will campaign for the project in future IMO.

Excuses that the past government supported the project are just nonsense because. The current government does not support the project.

Its really a failure to acknowledge the risks associated with mining a deposit that contains a significant amount of Uranium in a country that had a Uranium ban in place for decades. IA have always opposed uranium mining.

And the other excuse that this is a Rare earth project is even more ridiculous. The Kavanefjeld project has the second largest defined JORC complaint Uranium resource in the world. Its always been a multi element project, not just a Rare Earths Project.
