Kupang - a graveyard for Mn investors: KPR, GMC, plus at least 4 other Australian based companies. Problem is that you can't trust anyone in these third world countries. There is also too much political interference from Jakarta - all wanting a slice of the action. Pity is, that West Timor has some of the highest grade Mn in the world, but unable to get it out of the ground and exported. It was a waste of time developing a smelter - more money in export of Mn ore, but very difficult to get all the licences - always promised but never delivered. Will always be an artisan Mn industry only.
