Scientists calling for Hepatitis C patients Medical researchers in Melbourne claim they are close to developing a cure for Hepatitis C. They are calling on patients to take part in a three-year trial of a powerful anti-viral drug.
The debilitating blood condition causes fatigue and liver pain, and at this stage there is no cure. However, scientists are confident the drug, Pegelated Interferon, may prove to be a cure if patients are given the drug in the early stages of the disease. Anyone wishing to take part can phone the Burnet Institute on 03 9282 2174. Find out more about the trial here.
