I don't hold but my hypothesis is that TRS may have some supply chain problems for its imported stock.
It could depend on the location of each TRS store, but during a recession those who are experiencing hardship may well look at buying more often from TRS as it has a good 'value' reputation.
TRS competes against not just supermarkets but also 'mum and dad' (often mainland Chinese, or Vietnamese-run) '$2 stores' but the latter aren't in every suburb.
