Just remember Steve gets paid whether he: a) keeps the business going; b) sells the business; c) business becomes insolvent; d) he doesn't get diluted if there's a capital raise. His remuneration arrangements reflect his superior negotiation skills. But we shouldn't mistake that with thinking his incentives are aligned with ours as shareholders.
