The meeting is only days away, with senior level government officials and I think the pilot plant approval will be imminent. In fact I wouldn't rule out a possible approval/permit granted at the meeting. Either way it will be very soon i believe.

Remember the broader EIA (Enviromental Impact Assessment) was approved last year which kind of form a broader framework for most other permits. In other words, that EIA approval is the all important mother of all other approvals.


It has been known at the AGM last year that Sarawak government has signed an MOU with QM to build a JV gold refinery close to BAU processing plant to be used as a local tourist attraction. The Sarawak government has a stake in this and is very supportive of the project from my numerous community with the company. The fact that they has given NBG (Besra's subsidiary) the 5-year tax incentive speaks very loud and clear about their support to the project and the significant job creation and export income that the project will bring to the local economy.



Most people are not aware of these 2 fantastic pieces of info regarding the project: 5 year tax incentive package and EIA approval from the Sarawak government. This gold project is clearly many years ahead of other $300mil-$400mil MC gold exploration projects. And more importantly BAU project is clearly now targeting 5mil oz resource upgrade too.
