RIO are looking at new ventures business opportunities in battery metals....in particular in WA...TAW in play, AJM in play. Risk Reward = very good.

Andrew Latham, the head of Rio’s nascent New Ventures team and its lithium division, used his presentation to the Lithium and Battery Metals Conference in Perth yesterday to unveil a laundry list of commodities that are forecast to benefit from the rise of electric vehicles and other hi-tech applications.
While some of the commodities benefiting from the EV revolution, such as lithium, cobalt and nickel, are already on the radar of investors, Mr Latham’s list — based on research by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology — also included are metals such as tin, silver and tungsten.
Mr Latham said the MIT list was just a guide but did show some of the areas where Rio was looking to invest.
“We are actively looking for and evaluating investments, and ... we expect that the entrepreneurial miners and mining industry of Western Australia may be one of our most fruitful locations,” he said.
