Drilling of Nickel Targets to Commence at Riverina
The Company has been advised by Joint Venture partner Riverina Resources Pty Ltd that a three hole Diamond and Reverse Circulation drilling program is due to commence late this week at the Company’s Riverina Nickel and Gold Project. The program is designed to follow up on recently announced massive and disseminated nickel sulphide mineralisation which included 4 metres grading 1.84% nickel. Background The Riverina Project is located approximately 130 kilometres north of Coolgardie, Western Australia. The Project is a Joint Venture between Barra Resources Limited (30%) and Riverina Resources Pty Ltd (70%). Nickel sulphide mineralisation was recently intersected in GNRC028 on the footwall contact of the Martins Zone grading 4 metres at 1.84% nickel. Further detailed 1 metre resampling of anomalous nickel values higher up the hole have returned significant results including 7 metres grading 1.32% nickel, 1,500ppm Copper and 141ppb Platinium from 22 metres. This new result is indicative of oxidised disseminated nickel sulphides in a potential hangingwall position above the nickel sulphides located on the footwall contact. After thorough examination of the drill cuttings, existing downhole EM data, associated geochemical data and putting GNRC028 in context with existing surrounding Reverse Circulation holes, the Company believes these latest results are indicative of nickel mineralisation proximal to a more substantial body of nickel sulphides. Downhole electromagnetic surveying will also be carried out to help vector toward thicker zones of massive nickel sulphide mineralisation.
