I don't' want to sound negative but for those who have been peddling the idea of a commercial deal since late last year, today's announcement should be a big red flag. Big commercial partners have their own experts and have had the chance to look over the data by now. Now shareholders are having to paid for a group of experts to advise the company as to what to do next.

While there is still hope, this announcement appears to be a thinly veiled admission that the execs and the board have been unable to commercialize BIT225 which was their stated objective for this year. Its my belief that the market has mistaken the relevance of this announcement but that's nothing new for this stock.

Like most here I would dearly love to read another announcement tomorrow morning indicating that there are actual commercial discussions underway with one or more large pharma entities but this announcement almost certainly suggests that such an announcement is unlikely any time soon. My concern is that the small number of buyers who jumped in today will get burned over the coming week and the oppies will start to look very sick as a result. The company needs the cash from the exercising of the options. Financially this announcement could be significant but not in the way that we had all hoped.

Hi GiddyYup.

I'm in full agreeance with you. I hold a reasonable amount of options (and heads) and have been waiting on this announcement. I'll be looking to take the opportunities to sell heads and convert options when the SP looks right. This way I will be able to continue with BIT and also help top up their accounts. I hope others do the same too. (n.b I still expect to see an underwriting agreement soon and believe todays announcement would have helped with those discussions).
