    These guys live and breathe IT - they should know what to buy, or at least have an idea.
    What makes them think an "M&A specialist", to whom they pay to a hefty fee to buy something, will buy at the right price?

    Mis-alignment of incentives, unless they structure his pay packet according to actual return on investment (unlikely).
