Looks like an excellent appointment, with the skills and experience they need now that mining has started at Main Lode. My only real concern about Barra was the skills gap after Sean Gregory left but with this appointment that should no longer be an issue.
According to LinkedIn his most recent position was Business Development Manager at Wyloo Metals. He might just have the contacts and expertise needed to get the right partners and the required funding for the Mt Thirsty Cobalt project, in which he is clearly interested.
However, in the meantime he also has the right technical background to ensure that the mining restart at Main Lode is a success, with cash coming in to fund further exploration and expansion of mining at Burbanks.
Having the right team is as important as having the right ground. I think Barra now has both.
