I've mentioned this before but there are entirely legitimate reasons for culling a profitable contract. If you have limited resources (staff, expertise, and time) in a company you don't want to pursue an account just because it makes a few bucks, you want to focus on your strategic initiatives because that's the long-term future of the company.

Similarly, McDonald's could probably sell packaged, reheatable meals and make some money off it but it has no strategic significance to the company so it's not worth the resource investment.
