"sharecall, You either like the sound of your own voice ...."

Interesting comment, coming from someone who has flooded the PPX public commentary in recent months with 'the sound of his voice' via his web-site, media and this forum!
Graham, learn to respect everyone else's right to express an opinion as you would expect others to yours, even if you do not see any merit in it (to use your comment from a previous attack on me). After all, we all are stakeholders in the future of this company!

    "....or misunderstand".

Maybe! But if you tried to be open to the central points I was making in my post rather than nitpicking, you might not have found them to be that lacking in understanding. (It seems austted saw the sense in my point, as possibly others).

PPX's recent Board activities have been rather uncommon for a significant public company with multi-billion global revenue base. Process technicalities aside, on surface at least it would appear that after having the old Board cleaned out Andrew Price (who himself was appointed to Board only recently) is now the central decision-maker in the Board formation. Of course one would expect that the major shareholders (ok, those who are also change-agents) are being consulted, but wouldn't it be helpful to ease any shareholder anxiety if one of the recent PPX announcements also confirmed the process being followed to this effect.

I am not, in any shape or form, a supporter of the old incompetent mob that populated the Board or ran the day-to-day management of the company, nor am I trying to diminish Andrew's capabilities (or even the contribution you have made so far in trying to bring about the change), but I am very conscious (based on my past bitter experiences with other companies) that just barracking for one promising individual (or a small team) without proper checks and balances is not necessarily a receipe for success!

And to pick up another point you made, I know very well how the OZ system works in relation to shareholders' role in company's strategy, but given that all the Board members at the next AGM will be new, it would be a legitimate expectation from shareholders to know not only where the individual Board members have been (ie their background & qualifications), but also how they intend to take the company forward (their collective strategy) and how they see their individual role as a Board member. If any of the shareholders don't like any Board member's story, at least they have the option to vote against him/her, even if this turns out to be only a protest vote!

In the end, Graham, if you have gripe about anyone's comments in this forum because they are not-researched or you don't see any merit in, by all means enlighten the forum or, if you couldn't be bothered, ignore the comments, but this does not give you the right to ridicule the person.
