It's a long road back to redemption for this crowd.
I don't pretend to know how it got to this, but clearly the (former) CEO has become the scapegoat.
In cases like this, the rot is usually more widespread and it concerns me that the replacement ("saviour") CEO is an internal appointment, presumably all cosied up with the established board. The place needs a more substantial shake up, and that needs to start with board refreshment, strategic review of existing operations, THEN a CEO to fit the direction.
Do it now, do it swiftly and show direction.

I'd like to be called a pessimist, but I think this stinks like lack of board leadership.
