Basically a regime change. AJ needed to bring his own people in to consolidate his position and ensure he had the backing to get the things he wanted to get done. Now that he's gone the same thing is happening again.
The same thing happens in politics, the first thing to do is get rid of everyone who supported the previous leader and might make things difficult for you.
