With the appointment of Michael Ford as an Independent Non-executive Director, chairman Maurie Stang is again demonstrating his preference for recruiting pedigreed operators to his boards.

Over at Nanosonics he recently appointed L.E.K. Consulting and Cambridge University PhD luminary Lisa McIntyre as a Non-executive Director.

Meanwhile, questions arise at to who/what subscribed to AEI's $12m placement at 43c earlier this month.

We're told they're institutional and sophisticated investor clients of Cannacord Genuity (Australia) and Shaw & Partners.

In the event that AEI posts an updated Top 20 shareholder list along with its March Quarterly Report next week, we may get some clues as to the identities of placement recipients.

At the current SP they're enjoying gains of ~32%.
