The ex MD has already left the company and has commenced another role. Looks IMO to be Wia are paying out his notice period but services no longer required/they don’t want their BD activity known to someone leaving the company imminently.
Alternatively, could have completed the required due diligence on Wia’s Ivory Coast assets (he was MD of Wia so would be all over those assets) and was free to leave.
