Ok thanks. I do remember Pilots on TS, which was always a more negative forum than HC.
What you say about the PSI recharge is interesting as that implies low permeability, or formation damage. Not water cut or depletion. I was surprised at the time that they went to all the trouble of drilling a lateral and it didn't increase the flow rate at all.
But the flow rate was still okay, it sounds like water cut is ultimately what doomed it. Low perm isn't that much of a problem by itself as long as it still flows, the tank still fills with oil, you just schedule the trucks less often. But water cut means you have to truck the water out too which quickly kills the economics.
