Some will say that with the salaries and industry experience management have they shouldnt need external advisors to assist in a strat review and asset or corporate level transaction development. I think there is a point to that, however in my experience it seems relatively common practice for even experienced / good management teams to engage some type of transaction advisor for this type of process.
I do like that the objective of the process is clearly stated, i.e. to monetise or develop the company's assets.
