It's worth bearing in mind there is a fed election due within ~5 to 19 months (i.e. as early as Aug this year if called early, through to Sept 2025 if allowed to run full term). The big question is whether there's any meaningful substance behind the rhetoric (I doubt it) or whether it's good old-fashioned jawboning because the feds (regardless of political persuasion) will know they need to at least be seen to be doing something or suffer the consequences.
