I wonder if they’re signalling a fundamental shift in direction from being a reseller of large VFBs (previously the stated intention ) whilst focusing on building only smaller ‘domestic’ market VFBs under the VSun brand (also the stated intention.)
…As I recall this intent was published in a press story so I presume it was also disseminated to the large battery makers although I can’t find the HC reference ……. yet.

    Has that changed ?
“Today, the company announced the additions of Steve Banning as principal advisor and Dr Yifeng Li as product development manager for its 100%-owned subsidiary VSUN Energy Pty Ltd.
The appointments are expected to support AVL’s growing value chain from mining through processing, electrolyte production, battery systems and into energy markets.
AVL aims to accelerate the uptake of VFBs for use in large-scale long-duration energy storage systems…”
(as per pro active story above )

If the sole product was to be the small VFB it seems these appointments might be a bit of ‘overkill’?

Does anyone else remember posts where direct quotes from AVL indicated it had no intention to compete in the larger battery market?

    Thanks
